Food and Beverage Stylist
Contract | Project-Based | Per-Event
Overview:
Around the Table is seeking a Food and Beverage Stylist to help shape the visual and sensory experience of our gatherings. This role focuses on how food and drink are presented in real life—at the table, at the bar, and in shared moments—not just how they photograph.

The Food and Beverage Stylist collaborates with chefs, hosts, and the creative team to translate a feeling into an edible experience. This is visual storytelling for guests first, with photography and press as a secondary consideration; not the primary objective.
What You'll Do:
-
Style food and beverages for live guest experiences, including dinners, tastings, events, and intimate gatherings
-
Shape tablescapes, bar setups, and serving moments that feel intentional, warm, and aligned with the Around the Table ethos
-
Collaborate with chefs to explore how new dishes are presented, particularly shared formats such as charcuterie boards, grazing spreads, and composed tables
-
Help refine presentation standards and formats—how items arrive at the table, how guests interact with them, and how they evolve throughout an experience
-
Make thoughtful decisions around vessels, boards, layering, spacing, flow, and pacing
-
Adapt styling to different environments, seasons, group sizes, and event formats
-
Occasionally support food and beverage presentation for photography, press, or website needs (secondary focus)
What This Role Is Not:
-
Not a line cook or kitchen staff role
-
Not recipe or menu development
-
Not high-volume catering or production work
-
Not food influencer or content-creation focused
This role sits at the intersection of hospitality, aesthetics, and human connection.

Who You Are:
-
You have a strong visual sensibility and understand restraint as a creative tool
-
You think in terms of mood, texture, scale, and guest interaction, not just plating
-
You have experience presenting food in shared, experiential formats (charcuterie, grazing boards, communal tables, etc.)
-
You understand how people gather, linger, and move around food and drink
-
You’re collaborative, observant, and comfortable working alongside chefs and hosts
-
You’re detail-oriented without being precious or performative
-
You appreciate seasonal, grounded, human-centered experiences

Experience in food styling, hospitality, events, or related creative fields is welcome; but taste, judgment, and intuition matter more than titles.

How This Role Works:
-
Contract / project-based
-
Part-time / per-event
-
Collaborative, not hierarchical
-
Paid per project, per day, or per experience (not hourly kitchen labor)
-
Scheduling and scope vary based on event needs

Why This Role Matters:

At Around the Table, food isn’t just served—it’s shared. This role helps ensure that each experience feels intentional and inviting, without ever feeling overdesigned. When done well, guests may not consciously notice the styling but they’ll feel it.

“Hospitality is simply love and care in action.”

Director of Guest Experience
We are open to hiring this role at either the Manager or Director level based on experience, leadership, and fit.

We’re growing—and we’re looking for a Director of Guest Experience who can confidently lead hospitality experiences with care, clarity, and intention.
At Around the Table, the guest experience is not an afterthought—it’s the foundation. We design and host elevated gatherings where warmth, flow, and connection matter as much as the menu or setting. Our work is rooted in thoughtful execution, human connection, and creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcomed.

We’re not a traditional restaurant or event venue. This role is for someone who can step into the space as a trusted leader—someone empowered to make decisions, guide others, and protect the integrity of the experience. When the owner is present, you are her right hand. When she is not, you carry the experience forward with confidence and care.
Your Role:
-
Lead guest experience during events, tastings, and gatherings
-
Serve as the primary on-site hospitality lead representing Around the Table’s values and standards
-
Make real-time decisions to maintain flow, energy, and guest satisfaction
-
Guide and support bartenders, service staff, and culinary partners during events
-
Communicate directly with clients before and during experiences as needed
-
Anticipate challenges and resolve issues proactively, without escalation when possible
-
Help refine and elevate the overall guest experience as the business grows
-
Act as a culture carrier for warmth, professionalism, and intentional hospitality
Authority and Trust:
-
Authorized to make day-of decisions independently
-
Trusted to represent Around the Table in client-facing situations
-
Empowered to adjust plans in service of the guest experience

Who You Are:
-
A natural leader with a hospitality-first mindset
-
Calm, confident, and decisive under pressure
-
Highly observant and adaptable in dynamic environments
-
Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility
-
A clear communicator who values collaboration and respect
-
Available for evenings, weekends, and occasional daytime hours

What We Offer:
-
A hospitality-driven business focused on connection and experience
-
A predictable, event-based schedule with most work planned in advance
-
Meaningful responsibility and trust
-
Opportunities to help shape and grow a values-driven brand
-
Compensation based on experience

Part-time role with potential to grow

At Around the Table, leadership shows up in how guests are cared for and how teams are supported. We’re excited to meet someone who understands that hospitality is about presence, judgment, and heart.

Let’s create experiences people talk about long after the table is cleared.

At Around the Table, hospitality is about how people feel the moment they arrive—and long after they leave. This position is hands-on, guest-facing, and ideal for someone who believes great hospitality is both an art and a responsibility.

Opportunities to work a variety of unique gatherings and settings

Let’s make every gathering memorable.
